Supported by marching bands and cheerleaders, they provide entertainment and ignite the crowd's excitement.

At the annual NCAA Division I finals, nearly 20,000 fans are in attendance, reflecting the passion and enthusiasm for college sports in the USA.

Up & Coming - While there were 56 beach volleyball teams active in NCAA Division I & II in 2016, there are now 84 in 2023.

Requirements

To obtain a sports scholarship for a college in the USA, one must meet various requirements. First and foremost, academic qualification is essential. Additionally, ideally, one should demonstrate outstanding performance in their sport. In addition to academic and athletic requirements, potential scholarship recipients must also be of good character. The ability to work as part of a team, self-leadership, and a commitment to the community and the college are important factors.

In the life of a student-athlete
Typically, the preparation for the season in the USA begins in early August.
August - December
SEASON
The college volleyball season typically begins in early September. August, on the other hand, primarily serves as a preparation period. The duration of the playing season varies depending on the team's performance but can extend until mid-December in the case of a good performance in the National Tournament.
December - January
BREAK
From mid-December to mid-January, there are Christmas holidays. This provides the opportunity to come home and spend cozy days with family and friends.
January - May
SEASON
The spring semester starts in mid-January and lasts until the end of May, depending on individual and team performance.
MAY - August
BREAK
Summer break at most universities starts in early May and lasts until early August. So, you have three months off and plenty of time for a visit home or tournaments in Europe.
