Requirements

To obtain a sports scholarship for a college in the USA, one must meet various requirements. First and foremost, academic qualification is essential. Additionally, ideally, one should demonstrate outstanding performance in their sport. In addition to academic and athletic requirements, potential scholarship recipients must also be of good character. The ability to work as part of a team, self-leadership, and a commitment to the community and the college are important factors.

In the life of a student-athlete
The preparation for the official season begins concurrently with the start of the semester at the end of August.
August - December
OFF SEASON
The period from August to December in track and field is referred to as the preparation phase for the official competition season in the spring. During this time, several preparation competitions are typically held to prepare optimally for the season. This phase is also referred to as the pre-season.
December - January
BREAK
From mid-December to mid-January, there are Christmas holidays. This provides the opportunity to come home and spend cozy days with family and friends.
January - May
SEASON
The indoor track and field season typically begins in mid-January and ends with the indoor championships in March. From early March, the more extensive outdoor track and field season begins, which can last with numerous competitions until the end of May or early June.
MAY - August
BREAK
The summer break at most universities in the USA starts in May and ends in August, providing track and field athletes with a break from their college sports commitments. During this time, they have the opportunity to visit their home countries or pursue other interests before training for the next season starts in the fall.
