It is well-known that collegiate sports in the United States are an important venue for swimming. Many successful swimmers, like Markus Rogan, have elevated their athletic abilities to a higher level through the opportunities provided by universities.

The USA has won the most medals in Olympic swimming history, totaling 587 medals.

71 college swimmers participated in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Requirements

To obtain a sports scholarship for a college in the USA, one must meet various requirements. First and foremost, academic qualification is essential. Additionally, ideally, one should demonstrate outstanding performance in their sport. In addition to academic and athletic requirements, potential scholarship recipients must also be of good character. The ability to work as part of a team, self-leadership, and a commitment to the community and the college are important factors.

One Year
In the life of a student-athlete
August - December
OFF SEASON
The fall semester begins in early August and primarily serves as preparation for the season. During this period, some swim meets take place.
December - January
BREAK
From mid-December to mid-January, there are Christmas holidays. This provides the opportunity to come home and spend cozy days with family and friends.
January - May
SEASON
The spring semester starts in mid-January and lasts until the end of March, depending on individual and team performance. Right after that, preparation for summer meetings begins, which can be held outside of the USA.
MAY - August
BREAK
Summer break at most universities starts in early May and lasts until early August. If you're not attending any meetings, you have 3 months off and plenty of time for a visit to Europe.
